Monty Don speaking about the natural world in any context is an absolutely wonderful thing, especially on the Fane stage!
Your favourite book?
The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles is the book that made me fall in love with reading and the influence a well-told, good story can have on a reader. In a more contemporary sense, I think that Richard Powers is the world’s greatest living writer – reading The Overstory made me think differently about our wider role in the world.
