What do you bring to the team?
Before joining Fane I worked in the events team at Penguin Random House for 5 years, there I produced author events and tours across the UK. Previous to Penguin I worked in theatre in a variety of roles from producer, director to tour manager; I co-founded a theatre company who specialised in new writing. I cycled from London - Scotland with the cycling-Shakespeare theatre company The Handlebards. I also worked for a year in a puppetry theatre. So niche puppetry skills, cycling enthusiast, and book chat.
Your favourite book(s)?
Always a tough question where I’m always biased towards to more recent things I’ve read. At the moment I’d say ‘Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow’ Gabrielle Zevin, ‘Pachinko’ Min Jin Lee, and ‘The Night Circus’ Erin Morgenstern. But in 6 months I’m sure it will change again.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Going for a walk. Listening to podcasts. Current affairs/the news. Theatre. Binging TV series. Festivals. Newspapers. Asking people what they’re watching/reading/listening to. Travel. Sport & exercise. Conversations with friends (the activity not the book… though I did enjoy that too).
