The British Book Awards, known affectionately in the book trade as The Nibbies, showcase the world of books at its finest. The awards affirm, connect and energise all who have a hand in creating books and all who read them, by celebrating the authors and illustrators who have stirred hearts and imaginations, and the industry behind the scenes who have brought them to readers. The Books of the Year are unique in that they recognise not just a book's literary merit or success, but the full publishing process which has contributed to that success.
The British Book Awards returns this year to an in-person event at Grosvenor House, London on 23rd May, after two years of being hosted online. Past winners have included Douglas Stuart, Richard Osman, Maggie O'Farrell, David Olusoga, Bernardine Evaristo, Dara McAnulty and many more. 2021's virtual ceremony can be viewed here
