Emma Gray was just 23 when she moved to an isolated farm in Northumberland, becoming Britain's youngest solo shepherdess.
Join her for this virtual event, as she celebrates the publication of her heart-warming new book, My Farming Life.
In conversation, Emma will share tales of her life in Northumberland – from falling in love with its rolling fields, sycamore trees and sturdy farmhouse where she tended her sheep and trained her dogs, to dealing with heartbreak, grief and recovering from a serious accident. She’ll consider her experience of living in isolation, how she managed to make a living on Fallowless Farm, and how she eventually went on to become one of the country's most successful trainers of Border Collies, starring in ITV's celebrity shepherding contest Flockstars, BBC One's Countryfile and BBC Two's This Farming Life.
With warmth and humour, this event is testament to the healing power of nature, and a joy for anyone who's ever dreamed of living closer to it.
‘A heartening tale of life on the land’ Alan Titchmarsh
‘An uplifting, charming and beautifully written story of a farmer’s way of life.’ Adam Henson, Countryfile
