A Night in with Jenny Slate
From the wonderfully strange mind that brought you Marcel the Shell and the New York Times bestseller Little Weirds, get ready for a deeply funny, delightfully weird, and tender conversation with actor, author, and comedian, Jenny Slate.
Celebrating her new book, Lifeform, Jenny will take us through her unconventional collection of genre-bending essays depicting the journey into motherhood. The work, told in five phases – Single, True Love, Pregnancy, Baby, and Ongoing – is luminous, laugh-out-loud funny, and soulfully irreverent.
She will get real about the realities of fame, the sometimes strange, always emotional path to self-discovery, and what it means to truly live authentically. From her early days of feeling “stuck inside a stone,” to finding her voice in the spotlight, Jenny’s story is one of resilience, self-acceptance, and the power of embracing your true self.
Jenny will share hilariously awkward moments, like the kind of relatable, anxiety-fuelled scenarios that make you laugh, cringe, and nod along knowingly, while also diving deeper — falling in love, facing rejection, and wrangling with those inner critics that we all have but never invited to the party. Lifeform is Jenny’s most personal work yet, and she’s ready to tell you all about it.
Leaving you laughing, crying, and inspired to embrace your own “lifeform”, — with all its glorious imperfections — Jenny will celebrate the beautiful chaos of being human, no matter how weird or wonderful it may be.
The ‘stream and book’ package includes a unique ticket for the stream, and a copy of Lifeform (RRP £20) deliverable to any UK or international address.
